Have you ever been on a zipline? How about one of the world's longest, steepest, and fastest ziplines? Can you imagine going on a zipline over a mile long, going 90 miles per hour, with a huge vertical drop, along with an amazing mountain view? Now think, “What if this was real?” Hi, I’m Gia, and this is Zipflyer.
This extraordinary ride is just gonna get more extraordinary. Located in Pokhara, Nepal, you can have the thrill of your life. Depending on your weight, you will go faster or slower. For example, if you weigh 85 pounds( 38.6 kg), you will probably go 60 to 70 miles per hour. It is about 1.8 km (1.1 miles) long. It has a vertical drop of 2,000 ft and an incline of 56 degrees. It starts at an altitude of 5500 ft. You can see the beautiful and stunning Annapurna mountain range, Mount Machhapuchhre, and the Seti River.
It is not that scary and people of all ages should try it. Though you do have to be 77 pounds ( 35 kg). To me, the scariest part was either the launch-off or the ride there. Once you get to the base of the mountain, it takes 10-15 minutes to get to the top. It just added suspense. My dad said he was more scared while reading about it the night prior to the ride.
After my ride, I did some research on ziplines, and here is what I found.
World's fastest zipline: Velocity 2, located in Penrhyn Slate Quarry in Wales. It goes over 100 miles per hour.
World's longest zipline: Jebel Jais Flight in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. It's 1.76 miles long
World's steepest zipline: The Zipflyer, located in Pokhara, Nepal. It's a 2,000 ft vertical drop.
World's Highest zipline: La Tyrolienne in French Alps. It starts at 10,600 feet high.
Now you have read a little about it, watch the Zipflyer. This is me when I went.
Bye for now!
